Governance


The Library is governed by Saskatchewan's Library Act (1996), Southeast Regional Library policies and bylaws, and municipal bylaws. A Local Library Board is appointed by Estevan City Council. All direct costs of service in Estevan are funded by Estevan City Council's grant contribution to Southeast Regional Library. The City sends three trustees as part of Regional Library governance. There is one seat on the Executive of the Board of the Southeast Regional Library for an Estevan trustee. The Regional Library, in turn, is supported by the Province of Saskatchewan and the other municipalities which form the Region. All staff are employees of Southeast Regional Library. The Regional Library in consultation with the Local Library Board, select a professional Librarian to manage the branch.
